Spring is Prime Home Improvement Time

You may be considering a home renovation or some long-awaited repair work. This can be a big financial decision - it's important to not rush the process. In order to carefully select a contractor, it's a good idea to get several quotes (in writing), inquire about registration and insurance, and get references for the contractor’s three most recent projects with names and telephone numbers of the homeowners so you can contact them. For more information on deposit requirements, permits, and how to avoid contractor scams, check out the MA Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation's recent alert on home improvement scams: https://www.mass.gov/news/avoiding-home-improvement-and-contractor-scams
